365: 15-21

Yo yo yoooo! Week 3 is here and this week was HARD. I'm already struggling to either remember to take a photo, or to find something interesting to take a photo of. Also this week was full of lazy days, which are great, but not when you're trying to find interesting things to take photos of! But here we go..

15/1/14
WEDNESDAY DATE NIGHT! Tonight I got into town a lot earlier than Gruff did, so decided to treat myself to a bit of retail therapy, and some new make-up! (It wasn't really a treat, I needed to buy new make-up as I lost my make-up bag while I was out on saturday and spent waaaay more than I wanted to) My favourite purchase is oddly the cheapest. That lemon Body Shop lip balm was £2 and is AMAZING. I did have the blistex balm previously, which is great in this weather, but I like this so much in a completely different way. It smells like sherbet lemon dammit! Unfortunately though, the reason why it was £2 is because it was in the sale, so I believe a discontinued item. Sad face.
When I finally met Gruff we had an average Nandos, and went to see 12 Years A Slave. Holy ravioli, what a film?! I haven't cried at a film like I did in a very long time. I don't want to say too much about it, only that you NEED to see it. Probably my film of the year.

Today was very odd. I got up super late, missed my first two lessons (whoops..) and then didn't do much after. I had a maths mock, which actually wasn't too bad, as I had already done it by accident. But when I got home, I just wasn't in the mood for anything, so had a long bath and gave myself a pedi. Looking at my feet in this photo makes me cringe - I still have an awful tan line from the summer!

17/1/14
Flan-day Friday! Saturday was Faolan's (my old supervisor) birthday, so we all met up for pre-birthday drinks that evening. Pretty much everyone you see here (except 2) are people I have worked with, so it also doubled as a really nice catch up with people I haven't seen in a while, and don't really get a chance to spend time with outside of work. Also, later that evening I had the BEST falafel wrap-y thingy from Magic Roll on Park Street. Really tasty, and also really healthy!

Saturday is always work. And let me tell you, there is nothing worth taking a photo of at work. Although.. As I think about that, my supervisor, Matt, was doing some great additions to the ladies in the paper while we were on our lunch break, which was good fun. He also told me about this (https://www.facebook.com/DrawingDicksOnTheHeraldSunTheDocumentary?fref=ts) which is rather hilarious. But other than work, I went home to Gruff where we had jacket potatoes and watched Ponyo - which is soooooo cute! I love Ghibli films and this might have been my favourite. I giggled like a little girl the whole way through!

19/1/14
We tried yet again to go to Cardiff this week, but it took Gruff so long to get dressed, it just didn't make sense to only go for a few hours.. So we went to Bath instead! As much as I like Bristol, I love Bath so much more. It's so cultured and pretty and I'd love to live there one day. We had a bit of a wander before getting some salted caramel and peanut butter fudge (my favourite being the salted caramel!) and trundled home. The whole day all we had said was that we were DEFINITLEY having steak for dinner and good god, my boy did me proud! Steak, wedges and gravy. Mmmmmmm. Damn it was so good! I'm so lucky that one of us can cook in this relationship! Sunday night we watched Goodfellas in preparation to see another Martin Scorsese film on Wednesday, which is a film I have never seen and don't understand why not. To be quite honest, after Ponyo being so adorable the night before, I was a little bored, but I was impressed nonetheless! I struggled keeping up with the lingo and who was doing what throughout the film, but I was thoroughly entertained, right up until the end, where they did the break-down of his final day, which I felt was paced really badly. Put me in a good mood for Wolf Of Wall Street though!

20/1/14
Mondays are always bad, but today was the worst. I got home after feeling crappy all day, to find that my housemate Kait was in the same kind of mood, so we just chatted about how rubbish life was. I cried a lot today, which I guess you need to every now and again, but there come a point where it just becomes a bit stupid and you just need to get a grip. So I had a cuddle with the only man who's always been there for me - Winnie the Pooh - and went to bed early.

After Monday being so crappy, today I decided to try and be better. Didn't quite work out the way I planned as I overslept AGAIN and missed my lessons, however I cleaned my whole room, did the food shopping and finished all my homework, so today ended up being quite productive! Gruff came over for dinner and we had veggie stir fry, which was okay, and neapolitan ice-cream, which was great! It was nice just to see him, even for a few hours and have a chill out and a cuddle.. And watch Spaced, as you can see in the photo!

Well yeah.. This week was a bit lame, but I'm setting my goal for next week to try and do something worth documenting every day!
